Faults play an important role on hydrocarbon migration and accumulation in hydrocarbon-bearing basin. Based on detailed observation and description of fault outcrop, core data and microscopic flakes, this article analyzed development characteristics of fault zone internal structure units. Conventional logging data in the fault zone was calibrated by core data and imaging logging data. Then combined with quantitative calculation methods, the logging methodology was established which used to comprehensive analyze fault zone internal structure units. By factors analysis of fault zone internal structure, the model of fault zone was established in different geology conditions, then combined with examples in Dongying depression and Linnan area in Huimin depression, fault transporting and sealing mechanism was figured out, and sealing evaluation methodology of different fault types were established. Then this article pointed out that the way and conditions oil and gas migration along fault strike. The results show that fault zone is a three-dimensional geological with complex internal structure, which could be divided into sliding damage zone and induced fracture zones. Sliding damage zone is located in the center of fault zone, which developed a variety of fault rocks, associated fractures and fault cavity. And it's logging characteristics are low acoustic time, low neutron porosity, high density, without expanding diameter, low indicative curve value, and the indicative curve VU typically less than 0.1~0.2. Normalized data of Sliding damage zone in intersection graph is 0.4
