Groundwater numerical simulation has been one main method for groundwater resources analysis and geology environmental evaluation. Three-dimensional groundwater modeling software has two basic research contents. One is pre-post processing with the technique of the visualization, and the other is model accuracy. Common groundwater modeling software is final trend of software development, and it not only requires effective and quick data process, but also the model accuracy of depicting hydro-geological condition, and the well-designed interface between core program and pro-post processing program.At present, several kinds of abroad commercial groundwater modeling softwares have turned on. However, many problems in depicting hydro-geological conditions of these softwares have to be modified. In the homeland uniformed modeling software hasn't been formed. This paper is from this.Based on the theory of three-dimensional finite different groundwater modeling, making full use of new technique and methods in multi-subjects synthetical researches, importing the thought of object-oriented programming and software system design, and under the direction of the theory of digitization and visualization, this paper discussed and supplied the treatments for common key problems of modeling software development, and finally made one case study on middle reach of mainstream of the Heihe River in Hexi corridor. This case applied three-dimensional groundwater modeling programs designed by the theories in this paper. The main contents, methods and works are followed:1. Centered on pre-post processing and system integration of three-dimensional groundwater modeling, this paper makes researches on such key problems as automatic triangle mesh generation in arbitrary plane domain, plain contour map generation, and methods for space interpolations, scientific calculation visualization and how to depict the problems of many special hydro-geological conditions.2. Depicting hydro-geology elements correctly is the basic element of numerical simulation. So this paper introduced basic theory of three-dimensional finite different groundwater modeling, and discussed how to depict such general hydro-geology problems as the lag properties of infiltration,evaporation of phreatic water, river, reservoir, all kinds of wells including mixing well, springs and etc.3. From the view of the theory of groundwater flow modeling, this paper design the whole structure of modeling system, applied the class of C++ to express different objects of visualization theory, designed file system of modeling system. The author considers well-organized modeling structure will be the first-place content of the whole system.4. Comparing and analyzing advancing front method and Delaunay method in automatic triangle mesh generation of arbitrary plane domain, this paper made some improvements on the placement of node, and realized the program of the plain triangle mesh generation. This article also supplied the function for editing the obtuse triangle, and the results satisfied the requirement of modeling program successfully. Effective logic structure of triangle mesh is supplied, from which we can get adjacent side and node information easily.5. This paper summered current method of scatter data interpolations, and selected one factual function and compared the results from different inserting methods. By analysis and comparison, the author thinks the results by insertion of MQS, Radical Basis Function or Kriging method are perfect, and the results have direct relation with the numbers and distribution of sampling points.6. This paper discussed scientific calculation visualization of one, two, three-dimension data field of in groundwater numerical simulation, and analyzed the methods of the grid-sequence method and triangle mesh contour map generation, and at the same time programmed related programs, which are consistent with the results by surfer software.
