Analysis And Research Of The Development Mode Of Laboratory Animal Science In China

Laboratory animal science is a new emerging science subject, and are interdisciplinary sciencesprogressing along with the development of nature science and biological medicine industries.Laboratory animal is one of the basic prerequisites to support science and technology, and a sign toindicate the level of life science in a country.The application of laboratory animal science in the field of science and technology has exerted greatimportance for the condition of national economy. It has been considered as a sign of developmentallevel of biological science in a country.In the developed countries, laboratory animal production and supply industrialization, laboratory-relatedservice socialization, model making and biological identification technique engineering provide goodconditions for the life science research and the promoting of medical science and pharmacy.Laboratory animal science started later than western countries in China, because of the effect ofeconomic conditions and people's traditional idea, socialization process was also developed slowly.Lack of legal regulation, less investment, poor condition of animal facility, limit of laboratory animalspecies and low quality of animals have become the bottle-neck for the development of medical scienceand pharmacy, and can't keep up with the current rapidly expanding of biological science. So it is veryimportant and exigency to find a new development mode of laboratory animal science in China.Under the guidance of my mentor, my study work consists of the investigation of laboratory animalstatus of 30 provinces all over the country, visiting about 20 institutes about laboratory animal science,review of the jurnals and magazines in this field lately 8 years, and browing through websets of morethan 20 institutes overseas. Summarized my experience on macro management in this field for manyyears, investigated and analyzed the development rules of laboratory animal science in China andabroad, and resumptively proposed my research results.Retrospect to the development process of laboratory animal over sixty years, I discovered that theadvance on animal standard research, model establishment, socialized production, good laboratorypractice, animal welfare and substitute research was the main trail of development of laboratory animalscience in the world.Based on the experience of laboratory animal science in developed countries, reference and according toour real situations in our country, I objectively proposed the strategy to accelerate the development oflaboratory animal science in China.Considering the existing status of laboratory animal science in China and the development trends in theworld, suggested that we should take a scientific, economic and suitable development mode, acompound development mode including government regulation, industry cooperation and marketadjustment, to promote the quick development of laboratory animal science in our country.In order to accelerate the development of laboratory animal science in China, we must work out relatedpolicy to standardize the use of laboratory animal and the research under the guidance of GLP spirit, andto establish a standardization market environment for laboratory animal science.We must stick to the scientific development viewpoint, conform existing resources, and establish asocialization system to produce and supply laboratory animal. Through the overall planning, we can usethe measures such as policy guiding and market competition to form a socialization supply and servicenetwork and to develop socialism market economy.We must strength advertising and education to enhance the social awareness, break through the bondageand obstacle from traditional thread, social system, and technology itself, and boost the networkconstruction of laboratory animal technical platform and service and supply.We must insist that human is the center of the system, and pay attention to the environment safety,biological safety, ethics and morals, animal welfare and their mutual impact.Under present economical and technological...
