Take the petroleum geology, the structural geology, the geophysical well logging, the reservoir geology, rock mechanics, the rock-mass mechanics, the petroleum well drilling project, the oil gas reservoir transformation, the oil gas pool engineering and the multi-disciplinary theory and the method as the instruction, the thoroughly analyzes the characteristics of western Sichuan area compact reservoir in-situ earth stress and the petroleum engineering geology applied research.Establishment system stress field condition determination method, including: (1) Stress source analysis; (2) Method and so on laboratory method, compression fracture law, oil well logging stress value size determination; (3) Laboratory method, oil well logging method, structure method, earthquake method, oriented core method and so on definite in-situ stress direction; (4) Using the oil well logging, unifies the laboratory material, the compression fracture material determination rock mechanics parameter method.Has established the determination well section plane rock mechanics parameter, the in-situ stress value, the bursting pressure and so on multi- parameters well logging interpretation software, proposed determines the western Sichuan compact sandstone reservoir bursting pressure the new appraisal formula. To studied four Jurassic series main natural gas fields nearly 100 wells to carry on processing, has established the in-situ stress section plane, divided five kind of stresses section planes type.The system developed four main natural gas fields the ShaXimiao group, the Penglaizhen group main force has produced the level the rock mechanics parameter determination and the log information computation, to affected mechanics parameter the geologic agent to carry on the analysis .According to the compression fracture material, the log information, the laboratory material counter stress condition determination, used two-dimensionally, draws up the three dimensional finite element stress field simulation technology to study an area four main gas main force to produce the level to carry on the stress field distribution simulation, has analyzed the in-situ stress distributed characteristic by the simulated result. The achievement indicated that, (1) The research area existence the tectonic stress which comes by the Longmen Mountain direction, in the stratum mainly by σ_x>σ_z>σ_y and σ_z> σ_x> σ_y stress condition primarily; (2) The in-situ stress size distribution is mainly controlled to the burying depth, the tectonic stress size, the fault distribution. The level biggest principal stress basically is NW-SE approaches.
