Using the theories of sedimentology, geology of petroleum and seismic stratigraphy, we analyzed the sedimental characteristic and regularities of distribution of glutinite reservoir in the terrestrial fault basin. Sedimentary system is analyzed deeply guided by the correct geologic model by using the comprehensive complete set of technologies of geology, logging and dynamic data beginning with reservoir productivity. Vertical evolution and plane spread of the sedimentary facies are summarized. The reservoir in which exploratory wells are drilled is evaluated in various types and geologic factors of controlling the reservoir quality are analyzed through the study of diagenetic history rebuilding, reservoir evaluation based on permeability and sedimentary facies classification. Then the interval of good productivity contribution and probably favorable reservoir areas are pointed out. The following observations were made: With the analysis of bore core, rock section, granulometry, bore log and regional sedimental background informations, we identified the underwater gravity flow of lower Es3 and Es4, and confirmed them on the near source underwater fan in the steep coast. We ser off the sedimentary facies and subfacies, then elucidated the sedimentary texture and structural feature of them. 2) The spatiotemporal regularities of distribution of glutinite bodies were established with data of geology, seismic, well logging and sedimentary facies. The half-quantitative model of reservoir space evolution and diagenetic history were rebuilt by the evolution of mud clay mineral, diagenetic change of sandstone and maturation of organic matter in the source rock. With the permeability as the reservoir bed classification criteria, we found the reservoir bed of lower Es3 and Es4 belonged to low-mid level. Then, basing the controlling factors of permeability, the glutinite reservoir were divided into five groups, and C group and B group were considered best reservoir. The sedimentary facies were the fundamental factor for controlling the development of reservoir bed. In fact, the framework of glutinite, granularity, shale content and carbonate cement content were the direct variate of it. We found the kernstone and bibbley rock in inner-fan and mid-fan could form well reservoir as similar as medium sand and packsand in braid channel of mid-fan. According as flow test, the reservoir susceptivity was studied. And using Q factor analysis method, the lower limit and classify standard of reservoir were confirmed. The turbid sand and lake bottom fan related with fault in lower Es3 could be the favored locations with packed in dark oil shale. The best reservoir bed in Es4 would be formed in the braid channel of mid-fan.
