The development of Geography Information System (GIS) which was emerged in the 1960s has closely linked with steps of computer science, which means the development of computer science promoted GIS to go forward. With the changes of computing environment, GIS has also gone through a few of stages which were mainframe computing structure, C/S computing structure and B/S computing structure. At present, both the rapid development of internet and mobile communication make mankind to step into the mobile information ages with a character of getting information through the mobile internet. In this trend, the traditional computing method must be changed. A new computing architecture necessarily appears in the progress of development of GIS.As rapid development of wireless networks and internet technology, mobile devices can be seen everywhere. People need get information at anytime and anywhere, which means we need both moving service and location based service. Special information moving service and special moving location service were presently concerned by everyone, which made traditional GIS to faces a challenge.Special information moving service belongs to information services in variational environment. In this environment, devices randomly moved and time is sequential. Moreover, online information should be providing as quickly as possible. Several technologies are closely related with special information moving service. There are wireless communication, embedded technology, computer technology, space information technology and so on. To realize special information moving service, we need pay more attention to corresponding technology and theory.Agent technology which is key research direction in computer science is new technology both in artificial intelligence and in region of computer software. As the key research direction in distributed computing systems, agent is computing entities owned independent computing ability in distributed environment. Agent has some obvious characteristics, such as autonomous, interactive, reaction, sociality and so on. On one hand, it provides reasonable concept model for researching characteristics of distributed computing system; on the other hand, it provides an exercisable method to realize special information moving service.This paper aimed to take agent technology into special information moving service. By analyzing agent's structure model, a multi-agent middleware was presented for the purpose of providing an intelligent solution on special information moving service. The purpose of this paper is to research multi-agent middleware in M/S (Mobile/Service) structure and the computing model in M/S structure. Achievements and innovations in the paper are summarized as follows:(1) M/S structure was presented: Based on the theory of pervasive computing environment, we have a comprehensive analysis on GIS computing environment. Based on pervasive GIS concept, we put forward M/S architecture, which is a new sort of software architecture in pervasive computing environment, and is expansion architecture based on the wireless network of B/S architecture, it is mainly composed of mobile terminals, wireless internet, and server components, including mobile communication technology, internet and mobile location technology. This new structure can conveniently realize flexible and complex distributed computing.(2) A multi-agent middleware model: By analyzing the architecture of multi-agent system, we studied the cooperation resolve among multi-agent, designed a model of multi-agent middleware, researched cooperation and negotiation in agents group. According to intentional standard, we implemented the middleware's interface, communication, cooperation and moving. This multi-agent middleware presented a fresh idea on the design of middleware architecture.(3)A four tier structure of mobile GIS: Considering the client features of mobile GIS, the architecture of wireless internet and the relations of facilities in mobile GIS, we presented a four tier structure of mobile GIS based on the model of OSI protocol. In this structure, the first tier is client, the middle is application and service function, the bottom is data. By formulating logic function of each tier, the structure definited the relationship between every tier. In this paper, the middle tier is realized by multi-agent middleware.(4)Reactive agent structure: Based on analyzing the agent's Belief-Desire-Intention, the paper compares the popular agent structures and program framework. Then a reactive agent model was put forward to compensate for the shortages of traditional reactive agent, its mainly characteristic is own rules, own knowledge and rational mechanism, can realize reactive agent's self-learning and self-adaptive.(5)Application of moving inspection in power line: Power line moving inspection needs information system to manage every kind of tasks. In this system, lots of new techniques are involved, which are GIS, GPS, embedded development and deferent data management. This paper analyzed model of mobile GIS, designed a framework of moving inspection based on M/S structure. On the basis of multi-agent middleware which we have presented, we realized location service, moving service and management service in moving inspection system, which promoted the development of mobile GIS and produce practiced value in moving inspection.It is a new research field in special information moving service applied agent technique, which brings great impact on traditional concept and technology. Also, the concept of agent bring a great influence on the development of geography information system, distribute computing and moving internet. The paper did research and practice on multi-agent middleware in pervasive environment. Some mistakes may not be avoidable, we hope it can be point out so that it can be correct.
