Street canyon is the most important open space in urban built environment, which has a direct impact on urban microclimate. It is particularly important to the quality of city life and energy consumption of city about the study on the relationship between the geometrical characteristics of street canyon and urban microclimate, especially in climates where there are strong seasonal variations in Hot-summer and cold-winter zone. The current researches on the sustainability of the city and environment, energy sources in China are mainly focused on the macroscale level such as urban heat island or microscale level such as air-conditioning, and have made many progresses. But the study on the relationship between street canyon and urban microclimate is scarce. Especially, urban microclimate of street canyon in Hot-summer and cold-winter zone lacks systematic theoretical research. For the situation, the thesis studies the microclimate of street canyon, which is on the level between single building and city level.Because of the complex urban microclimate in Hot-summer and cold-winter zone, the numerical simulation is used in the thesis which calculate the dynamic coupling process for the factors of urban microclimate including wind flow, heat flow, turbulence and solar radiation on the base of field measurement. It provides a novelty method for the study on urban microclimate.Mixed commercial and residential blocks in Wuhan are used to analyze the microclimate characteristics of street canyon in Hot-summer and cold-winter zone and validate the reliability and the applicability of the numerical model of urban microclimate. Regard some data measured in experiments and local weather data as the initial condition for calculation model, the ground temperature, air temperature, wind speed, humidity and MRT in summer and Winter are monitored in the experiment. From the comparison between numerical simulation and field measurement, the results match well. It provides the method for urban design of street canyon microclimate. At last, the street canyon is analyzed with the diurnal variation and distribution of microclimate factors in the perspective of geometrical characteristics, layout mode, physical properties of underlying surface, vegetation, water, wind and seation. And design strategies for the climate adaptability of street canyon in Hot-summer and cold-winter zone is proposed to optimize the street canyon design for better urban microclimate. The work of this thesis lays a foundation of prediction and evaluation of the urban microclimate, and lets it possible to guide street canyon design by simulation to improve the urban microclimate.
