Phenylhydrazone derivatives havepotential application in biochemistry, medicine and materials science.This thesis focuses on supramolecular structures of phenylhydrazone derivatives,especially on intermolecular hydrogen bonding and aromatic n-n -stacking interaction.A series of phenylhydrazone derivatives were synthesized by reacting varieties of carbonyl compounds(aldehydes and ketones) with 2,4-dinitrophenyl hydrazine and 4-nitrophenylhydrazine respectively, and thirteen single crystals (never reported before) were determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction (see the table below).
