This dissertation focus on the preparation and characterizations of novel inorganic-organic hybrid charged membranes including hybrid (inorganic-organic) positively charged membranes, hybrid zwitterionic membranes with carboxylic groups, hybrid zwitterionic membranes with both sulfonic and carboxylic groups, and hybrid charge-mosaic membranes, etc. The following is the main description of the respective chapters.Chapter 1 is the introduction. It firstly gives an overview on the background of organic charged membranes and inorganic-organic hybrid charged membranes. Then the research ideas and technological plans for this study are put forward.Chapter 2 is the preparation of hybrid (inorganic-organic) positively charged membranes via alcoholysis reaction and amination processes of silicone and titanate coupling agents. A series of novel hybrid (inorganic-organic) positively charged membranes are prepared by coupling reaction of 3-glycidoxypropyltrimethoxysilane (GPTMS) and mixed GPTMS/Ti(O-n-C4H9)4 in non-aqueous solution, and a subsequent reaction of quaternary amination with trimethyl amine (TMA) via the opening of epoxy groups. The influences of both curing temperature and the content of titanium on membrane properties are studied. It is exhibited that anion exchange capacities (AIECs) of the membranes decrease with the elevated curing temperature for various coating solutions; while Ti can facilitate the opening of epoxy groups, thus increasing their thermal stability and AIECs, but excessive Ti-content will decrease the stability of Si-O-Ti bonds, resulting in the crackle of the membranes. In chapter 3, the preparation of hybrid zwitterionic membranes with carboxylic groups was discussed. Four types of novel inorganic-organic hybrid zwitterionic polymers were successfully synthesized through sol-gel process. The polymer precursors were obtained by a reaction of N-[3-(trimethoxysilyl) propyl] ethylene diamine (TMSPEDA), under non-aqueous conditions, with 3-glycidoxypropyltrimethoxysilane (GPTMS) and a subsequent reaction with γ-butyrolactone (γ-BL), finally let them exposure in an open air to generate ion pairs. Based on these zwitterionic polymers, a series of novel inorganic-organic hybrid zwitterionic membranes were prepared and characterized. It shows that the isoelectric...
