Chemical reactor are widely used in process industry. In industrial process, the starting raw materials in the form in which they can be reacted chemically pass through the reactor where chemical reactions take place. The products of the reactions must then undergo further physical treatment-separations, purifications, etc-for the final desired product to be obtained. Economically the reactor itself may be an inconsequential unit. More often then not, however, it is the heart of the process, the thing that makes or breaks the process economically. Because there are great many quite different chemical reactions involved in process industry, it is significative in science and engineering to develop new type of reactors to meet the need of particular reactions.A design of a novel diaphragm seal in witch the sealing diaphragm will be subjected to minimizing deformation during operation to prolong its working life was presented . Experimental studies were carried out for the seal structure introduced in this paper to verify the feasibility and reliability of the seal. Air at room temperature and 0.3 MPa was used as sealed fluid in the test. It was found that the air pressure in the test system did not change obviously during the 50 days test period. It indicated that this seal could completely eliminate leakage. The experimental results also showed that the sealing diaphragm was in quite a normal condition after subjected 4.3 × 10~6 deformations and the mechanical efficiency of the seal was approximately equal to that of convenient mechanical seal.A proper residence time distribution(RTD) model is useful for the reason that it reflects the mixing properties of the reactor and facilitates fitting a reactor conversion model. A stochastic RTD model based on Markov chains for baffled tube oscillatory flow reactor was developed. The single model parameter, recycling ratio R, was expressed as the function of ζ , the ratio of oscillatory flow Reynolds number(Re_o) to net flow Reynolds number(Re_n), by statistical analysis of perfect pulse tracer experiments data measured in a 50 mm diameter, 1.95m long baffled tube oscillatory flow reactor. The experiments were performed over a wide range of oscillatory conditions and net flow rates. Over the range of the experimental conditions studied, it...
