Environment protection has directly impacts on our human being existence and development. The essence of the problem is to accelarate economic development, and to reduce emission amounts of pollutants. All these aim to creat favorable social and natural environments, to realize the true Sustainable Development. To solve the problem of the serious environment pollution, many technologies should be taken into pratice, such as environement evaluation and analysis, clean production, pollutants processing techniques, and some environment management approaches, etc. Among these technologies, environement evaluation and analysis is one of the key problems. It can provide more detailed and accurate information for environment management. This paper fouces on eco-efficiency evaluation problems, and mainly researches some evaluation methods based on DEA.This paper involves eight charpters, and the essence is elagorated as follows. The first charpter reviews the basic methods of DEA, related methods and applications of eco-efficiency evaluation. Then the research methods, the main contents are also given.Charpter two reviews the theories of eco-efficiency evaluaton based on DEA. The detailed production possibility sets, disposability of undesirable outputs and related DEA models are discussed. In charpter three, an improved efficiency evaluation mtheods based on the additive DEA model is provided. The proposed approach can overcome weakness of the existing approaches, and can keep DEA classification invariance. A numerical example is employed to illustrate the given method. The fourth charpter presents an eco-efficiency evalation model considering impacts of non-discretionary inputs on DMUs' desirable and undesirable outputs simultaneously, by defining a new reference units' selection approach. Based on the model, returns to scale of DMUs are also analyzed. A case study of paper mills is employed to illustrate the model, and the results of the case study shows the...
