The emission wave of solid state laser pumped by laser diode distributes in 0.313.0μm densely. It is widely used in universe research, medical treatment and chemistry etc. Especially, the Yb3+, Nd3+doped KGW, KYW laser pumped by LD has great meaning in the development of laser integration and miniaturization.In this paper, high quality Nd3+:KGd(WO4)2 , Yb3+: KGd(WO4)2 and Yb3+: KY(WO4)2 crystal grown by Top Seeded Solvent Growth(TSSG) method were presented. Using K2W2O7 as flux, we choose proper concentration by fluorescence spectrum experiment, and select proper temperature sintering raw material and flux.Crystal crack, grow strips, grow steps, grow mound and parcel were photoed by SEM. We got the conclusion that in order to get high quality crystal, we should degrade the fluctuate between temperature , concentration and growing speed.X-ray powder diffraction analysis was given to the crystal powder. Nd:KGW, Yb:KGW and Yb:KYW belong to monoclinic system with space group C2/c. The melting point and phase transition were obtained by TG-DTA analysis. There is no other change besides phase transition below the melting point, which is applicable to grow these crystals by TSSG method. The infrared spectrum and Raman spectrum of crystal were measured. The vibration modes was analysed and vibrational frequencies of vibratory activity was assigned.The existence of WOOW and WOW in KGW and KYW crystals can be insured by vibrational spectrum analysis.The absorption spectra and emission spectra of Nd:KGW, Yb:KGW and Yb:KYW were measured. Using J-0 theory calculated the peak emission cross section of these crystals.Nd3+ had a wide absorption peak at 808nm,its emission peak was 1068nm and 1350nm.Yb3+ had two absorption peak at 940nm and 980nm,its emission peak was between 1020nm and 1060nm.Laser property of Nd:KGW crystal was studied.When output power of pumping source was 900mW,we have obtained laser with an output power of...
