Pulp bleaching wastewater with chlorin, especially CEH three stage bleaching wastewater, contains substantive organic chlorides other than relatively high amount of COD and BOD. Some of these organic chlorides have comparatively powerful toxicity, and a proportion of these organic chlorides belong to carcinogen, causing malformation and mutation substances, and at the same time they are difficult to biodecompose, causing trouble at the wastewater biotreatment. If they are discharged into water system of rivers and lakes, it would evoke severe environmental pollution. Yet at present our country lack effective measuring resorts for organic chlorides' pollution in water system, and know little about pollution caused by organic chlorides that come from pulp bleaching wastewater. According to present status of our nation's pulp and paper making industry, the paper did below research:Studied some methods' suitability for measuring inorganic chloride in pulp bleaching wastewater. When potential titration method used to measure inorganic chloride in bleaching wastewater with chlorin, the measure result is comparatively accurate, and the error always falls in 1%. For the newly found conductivity titration method, it also suitable for measuring inorganic chloride in pulp bleaching wastewater, but the result is not so good as potential titration method, and receives more disturbances than potential titration method. The other several methods are not suitable for inorganic chloride measuring in bleaching wastewater. The ECS 1200 halogen-analyzing instrument can precisely and quickly analyze AOX, EOX and TOX in pulp bleaching wastewater, and also can measure TOX in pulp exactly. The instrumental method essentially corresponds to the National Standard Method of AOX micro coulomb titration. The analytical principle of the instrumental method is primarily changing organic chloride into inorganic chloride by complete combustion, then inorganic chloride is absorbed and analyzed with microcoulomb titration method, and from this analyzing result, we can calculate out different mode of organic chloride. Yet the imported analytical instrument is very expensive, and it's not suitable for widespread usage at present situation of our country. According to principle of instrumental analysis of AOX, personally contrived and designed AOX potential titration method, and did some research about it. From the research we can find that the personally contrived and designed method...
