Landfill leachate is a sort of organic refractory effluent with high concentration and complex pollutant constitutes. The treatment of leachate is a worldwide problem. Though it has been studied for a long time in many countries, the practical and effective treatment methods have not been obtained yet. Biofluidized bed biofilm wastewater treatment technology is a remarkable effective biological treatment technics and is suitable for the treatment of the recalcitrant organic wastewater containing high concentration and complex constitutes. A new type of biofluidized bed reactor system was designed and applied to treat leachate and a series of theoretical and applicable issues were discussed in this dissertation. The dissertation includes: the hydrodynamics and oxygen transfer characteristics of the reactor, the pollutant characteristics and biodegradability of leachate, the process theory for leachate biodegradation with anaerobic reactor coupled with aerobic biofluidized bed reactor, the kinetics of organic pollutant biodegradation and the process theory of nitrification bioaugmentation.A rectangular aerobic fluidized bed reactor with round draft tube and a new type baffle device was designed to improve the radial mass transfer and the mix efficiency so to be convenient for scale-up. Hydrodynamics and oxygen transfer experiments of the reactor show that it has excellent mix and mass transfer characteristics and its oxygen absorb efficiency (Ea) and oxygen transfer power efficiency (Ep) can achieve 13.97% and 10.91 kgO2/kWh respectively, and its power consumption is cut down by 50% compared to conventional reactor under the optimal operational conditions. Besides, KLa and Ep (Ea) of the reactor with the new type baffle can be improved by 1015% and 1220% respectively in contrast with that without baffle. Based on these, it has provided the biodegradation of leachate with a excellent device foundation.Gas Chromatogram and Mass Spectrum (GC/MS) method coupled with microbial oxygen uptake rate (OUR) method were used to analyze the organic pollutant chemical characteristics, biodegradability and their relativity. GC/MS and OUR results were proved in the Model Test of wastewater treatment. Above results shows...
