Molecule-based magnetic material is a recently obtained magnetic material through a new chemical synthesis. Its appearance has made it possible to get functional material through solution chemistry, which was available only under special condition before. The design and synthesis of molecule-based magnet are an interdisciplinary frontier issue involving such areas as supramolecular chemistry, magnetism and crystallography. To get a molecule-based magnet which can both obtain high Tc and maintain its own properties is one of the challenging issues facing scientists today, whereas Rare-Earth-Transition Metal heteronuclear complex is one of possible ways to make a breakthrough. This thesis is here the foundation up launch, and the point considers some complexes combined by rare earth(RE) elements with the first series transition metal.Totally ] 6 new rare earth-transition metal heteronuclear complexes have been synthesized and their crystal structures also have been determined by X-ray diffraction. The complexes include 6 RE-Zinc, 3 RE-Cobalt and 7 RE-Copper heteronuclear complexes, of which there are one trinuclear, 8 tetranuclear, one pentanuclear, three octanuclear, 1 one-dimension chain and 2 two-dimension supramolecular complexes. 12 of these complexes have been characterized by temperature dependence of magnetic susceptibilities. Here are the research findings of the crystal structures and magnetic properties of the above complexes:1. Three kinds of new crystal structures of lanthanide-transition metal heteronuclear complexes, which have never been reported, have been gotten, including:a) The two-dimension supramolecular complexes {[RECuL4(H2O)4JL}n (RE = Ce, Eu) have been gotten, which are at present RE-transition metal with the most dimension bridged only by carboxylate group. Besides, the RE(III) and Cu(II) ions on a chain in the complex are basically on a straight line.b) One-dimension chain complex [NdZn2L7(4, 4'-bpy)·2H2O]n has been gotten.
