In the paper, the acoustic emission mechanism and signals analysis technology is focused on during the course of pitting corrosion of low carbon steels.the main research contents include the acoustic emission mechanism, the monitoring experiments, wavelet analysis technique and Independent Component Analysis technique of acoustic emission signals ,etc..At last, on the basis of Theoretical Studies, The picking up and analysis software of AE signals characteristics is programmed.1. The engendering mechanism study of acoustic emission sources during the course of low carbon steels pitting corrosionThe production of acoustic emission sources is complex during the course of low carbon steel pitting corrosion. The acoustic sources produced in the process of air bubbles bursting is focused on in the paper. Theoretical studies show that the amplitude of sources from air bubbles bursting is bigger than the sensitivity of inspcting system, and can be detected. Also, based on the engendering characteristics of acoustic sources, parameters and waves characteristics of signals are identified through calculating.2. Acoustic Emission monitoring experiment studies in the course of low carbon steels pitting corrosionElectric Water Bath Ring and simulation container experiment equipments are upbuilt in lab.The testing objects include flat and circle specimens. In the experiments, a number of acoustic emission signals are achieved, and they are accordant with theoretical analysis results. The basic characteristics of signals are analyzed, which offer the experimental seed for monitoring early corrosion damage of low carbon steels with AE technology.3. Wavelet analysis technology study of AE signals in the process of low carbon steels pitting corrosionAccording to the characteristics of AE signals, the wavelet basis in common use are analyzed .The selection rules of wavelet basis are identified, also the wavelet basis is advanced which suit to the pitting corrosion AE signals wavelet analysis of low carbon. Problems are studied on signals denoising, characteristics picking up, and so on. The reliability of signals analysis is enhanced.4.
