Comparative Research On The Differences Of Ecological Footprints In Different Regions Of China

In the recent years, the decline of environment quality and environmental polution problems have aroused widely attention in every country in the world. Research about the environment has also increased day by day. Ecological footprint, as a index of measuring environmental sustainable development, has already become one of the hot topics in environment research at the present stage.Research about ecological footprint theory has important practical application for enriching the content of domestic environment influence, scientifically and reasonably setting resources'use and scheming as well as making strategy. Since the year the ecological footprint model drawn into China which was in 1999, the theory has been widely used and obtianed great achievement. However, as it develops until now, the ecological footprint model still exsists deficiencies which expects further improvement.Applying the theory and method of ecological footprint, the author improved and completed some deficiency of former ecological footprint model. Using the improved method, the author calculated the countrywide average productivity, the equivalence factor and yield factor, and applied them into comparative research in different provinces. Based on it, the author evaluated the current situation of the national environment and the situation of different regions'sustainable development.Specifically, the author primarily used the traditional ecological footprint model to analyze the change of the nation's ecological footprint from 1999 to 2008, and calculated and deeply analyzed our nation's different kinds of land use index. Also, the author discovered some problems and proposed solutions. After, utilizing the improved calculation which was invented by himself, the author made comparative analysis to some representative provinces'ecological footprint and sustainable development. Based on the analysis, integrating the economic development factor, the author comprehensively analyzed the pressure that the economy development brings to the environment.The text drew the following conclusions according to the above calculation and specifically analysis. First, in the recent years, our nation's ecological footprint has increased year by year, but the trend of the environment capacity has declined. Before 2003, the nation was in the situation of ecological surplus generally. However, from the year 2003, the national ecological deficit has increased. Up to 2008, the ecological deficit had arrived 0.44256 hectares. From this, it can be seen that the pressure that all kinds of activities that people bring to the environment has become greater and greater. Second, through the compare of Jinlin province, Guangdong province and Gansu province which were representational in China, we can see that the regional situation of the ecological footprint is not optimistic. In other words, they all presented ecological deficit in different levels. Third, the gross ecological utilization ratio has increased yearly, and ecological resources that the unit output value occupies has gradully decreased. Besides, the development trend kept well.Aiming at the above questions, this article gave advice to relieve the environmental pressure and promote strategies of sustainable development.First, improving the lagging way of production currently, importing advanced tecnology and experience, improving the utilization ratio of the limited resources are what must be done at the present stage. Resourze in each region is limited, on the limited dase increasing essiziency and outputing more ecomomic interest are the only ways to create value as large as possible to satisfy the whale population's production and life requirements in the largest range.Second, the governments and relevant departments should set relevant policy and reasonablly make use of resources which contain non-renewable resources and renewable resources. For those resources which can't be reproduced.planning and reasonable use are what must be done .We can't only focus eyes shortterm interest and ignore longterm interest .Besides,we must find substitute resources as soon as popsicle to make up depletion of unreproduced resources .For those resources which can be reproduced ,we must strenghthen protection ,for instance ,earning land,forest, wet land,etc.it's required to reasonably use resources according to the actual capacity based on ensuring self updating.Third, no matter governments or folk people should increase input for environment protection, making the eco-system recover and improve with each passing day. Nowadays,the global eco_system has been harmed in different level.problems regarding.Global warning and water pollution have been heavier and heavier .if effective measure isn't done on time ,the whole eco_sysrem will faced the danger of broken. Therefore,while keeping the economy increase steadily ,we must reinforce input to environment protection to recover the broken environment to reach the whole eco_system's selfrecycling.Finally, we should coordinate relationship between the economic increase and environment protection while coordinating relationship between the comtemporary era and later generations. Namely, we should achieve full-around coordinating sustainable development as far as possible.
