In this dissertation, the theory, methods and key technologies of CAPP tool system based on multi-technology fusion for products are studied systematically. The CAPP tool system are developed, and applied to the process planning of hydraulic cylinder. The main contents of the dissertation are as following: 1. The present status and trends of the research on manufacturing and on CAPP are reviewed. The realized technologies of CAPP tool system are discussed, and the relevant contents and goals of the project are put forward. 2. The research characteristics on products are presented, and the object-oriented information model and the description model of process information with the core of products structure are built. The architecture of CAPP tool system of multi-technology fusion for products is put forward, and the relevant function model and architecture framework of CAPP tool system based on it are built. 3. The integrated theory of CAD/CAPP for products is studied, and the two integrated methods of CAD/CAPP for products are presented: one is the integration of macrocosmic data manage based on PDM, and the other is microcosmic data stream based on feature. With the methods of interface, the integrated framework of design and manufacturing of products based on the fusion of PDM and feature is constructed. 4. The process planning theory for products is studied, and the procedure of process planning for modular & non-modular products are presented. Through the level division of process planning, the common modules in CAPP tool are derived, and the special CAPP system can also be made through the customization. 5. The multi-decision methods of CAPP tool system for products are studied. The variant decision mode based on the case index tree of modular products and three index structure is presented. The decision function model, total structure and its decision tools have been constructed. One or more decision modes can be selected, and special product decisions can be customized by users according to product characteristics. 6. The realization technology of process planning management and general tool model of CAPP tool system are studied. In order to realized the data integrated of manufacturing course of PDM-based, the data management model and relevant model blocks of process planning are built, and the process management of PDM-based is realized. 7. The design theory of CAPP tool system of CBC-based is studied, and the structural framework of CAPP system of CBC-based is established. On the basis of the technology of general components, half-general components and special components, the CAPP system is developed for different design course of CAPP. 8. Based on the study of theory, methods and key technologies of CAPP tool system for products, and combining the multi-technology, the CAPP tool system for products is developed, which could be customized in terms of the characteristics of various products. With the tools, customized process planning system for specified products could be constructed, and applied to the process planning of hydraulic cylinder, and finally the CAPP system of hydraulic cylinder have been customized.
