Waterpower resource is renewable and pollution-free energy resource. Efficiently and reasonably utilizing hydroenergy to generate electricity, and transmitting stable and reliable electricity to users is a lasting arduous task in the development of electric power construction. Waterpower can not only supply plenty of electric energy for power system, but also play a very important role in optimizing electrical source structure of grids, ensuring safe and stable operation of power system and promoting power supply quality.Perfect functions of automatic generation control (AGC) in hydropower stations can mostly exert actions of hydroelectric units in power system, and enhance competitive abilities and economic benefits in the conditions of electric power market. Hydraulic turbine control system is the operation mechanism of AGC in hydropower stations, so it directly influence on realizing each task of the AGC successfully. In order to solve the problems in practice, the means of improving control system for units in cascade diversion hydropower station were put forward in this paper.Firstly, it is introduced that dynamic programming principle applied to economic operation in cascade hydropower station. Each AGC task and its relation to hydraulic turbine control system was comprehended adequately; According to distributed control theory of the broad sense large system and system reliability theory, distributed & harmonized control structure of units and graded control structure of computer supervisory control system is presented, and the function-assembled system structure of hydraulic turbine governor as well.Secondly, according to the demand of hydraulic turbine speed constant regulation, the quadratic optimal regulating parameter is educed by modern state feedback control theory, and its control effect greatly exceed the general PID control with recommended regulating parameter; Moreover, in terms of nonlinear control theory and method, non-linear control is...
