Objective1. The study employed fenpropathrin (FP) to jeopardize pregnant rats modeling as the experimental object. It was observed and analyzed about how pyrethroid (Py) affected the reproductive capability of the pregnant SD rat. In prospect to those outcomes, we could evaluate pyrethroid based on the outcome of pregnancy and embryonic defect. In addition, the study could explore the mechanism of action towards reproductive system.2. The study used Zhuyun III decoction that a herbal formula for strengthening the spleen and supplementing the kidney as the treatment It applied fenpropathrin to interfere abortion and embryonic defect in order to theorize the precaution and protection of Chinese medicine and its mechanism of action.3. The study employed fenpropathrin (FP) to jeopardize in male rats rats modeling as the experimental object. It was observed and analyzed about how pyrethroid (Py) affected the reproductive-endocrine system of the male SD rat, and to explore its mechanism of action.4. The study used Shenqiwan decoction that a herbal formula for supplementing the kidney as the treatment. It applied fenpropathrin to interfere the defect of reproductive-endocrine system of the male SD rat in order to theorize the precaution and protection of Chinese medicine and its mechanism of action.5. On the other hand, the study could assess Chinese herbal combined decoction to act on the protection of the reproductive activity and mother-infant. It also provided a theoretical evidence emphasizing Chinese medicine approaching reproductive science.Method1. The experimental study of Chinese herbal medicine affecting pregnant rats being poisoned by fenpropathrin (FP) with toxic response: 72 SD rats weredivided into six groups including (1) model group, (2) model plus high dose treatment, (3) model plus middle dose treatment, (4) model plus low dose treatment, (5) model plus Turinal , (6) Blank control group. Group 1-5 were orally fed l/20LDso (6. 775mg/kg) fenpropathrin daily from Day 1 to 15 when proved pregrancy. Then, physiological saline was given after being poisoned after 4 to 6 hours. The quantities were 4 times, 2 times, 1 time of adult dosage of Formula Zhuyun HI and Turinal (0. 2g/kg) . Group 6 was blank control. Pregnant rats were killed on the fifteenth day. The experiments were to observe their general condition, weight, pregnancy symptoms, spleen, ovary and uterus, number of embryo and its development. Blood tests were carried out to generate data of 3 —endorphone, estradiol(E2), progesterone(P), flitropin (FSH), luteinizing hormone (LH), testosterone (T) and cytokine IL^ IL-l(h IL-4^ IL-6% TNF-a ? IFN, Some tissue of organ were dislodged to generate data of Ca2+-ATP enzyme activity of ovaries and estrogen receptor progesterone receptor of endometria2. The experimental study of Chinese herbal medicine to affecting embryonic development whilst maternal rats being poisoned by fenpropathrin (FP): The embryos were taken from the fifteenth day pregnant rats. The study observed the embryonic shape and defect;the quantity of embryonic and absorption and living;weight, length, tail.3. The experimental study of Chinese herbal medicine affecting male rats being poisoned by fenpropathrin (FP) with toxic response: 60 SD rats were divided into five groups including (1) model group, (2) model plus high dose treatment, (3) model plus middle dose treatment, (4) model plus low dose treatment, (5) Blank control group. Group 1-4 were orally fed l/20LDM(6. 775mg/kg) fenpropathrin daily from Day 1 to 30. Then, physiological saline was given after being poisoned after 4 to 6 hours. The quantities were 4 times, 2 times, 1 time of adult dosage of Formula Shenqiwan. Group 5 was blank control. Half male rats were killed on the fifteenth day. The rest was kept until thirtieth day. The experiments were to observe their general condition, spleen, kidney, testis and epididymis, Blood tests were carried out in the mid stage of experiment and thirtieth day respectively to generate data of hormone flitropin (FSH), luteinizing hormone (LH), testosterone (T), andmarker of testis acid phosphatase (ACP), y-glutamyltranspeptidase (y-GT) .Results1. Pregnant rat could not find any sign and toxic symptom during early/middle pregnancy after being poisoned by l/20LDM fenpropathrin (FP).2. With respect to abortion rate, model group showed statistical significance when compared with other groups. Model group also showed progesterone level was low, Thl/Th2 came closely to Thl type. Formula Zhuyun IE is a formula to enhance kidney and spleen. With the treatment Formula Zhuyun HI, it had desirable alleviating effect in abortion rate, higher level of progesterone, and desirable effect to regulate fenpropathrin (FP) preventing from deviation of Thl and TH2.The result demonstrated that fenpropathrin (FP) had toxicity on reproduction, it could lead to abortion which was related to endocrine and immune function for pregnant rats. Formula Zhuyun IE could regulate the above condition and relief fenpropathrin (FP) toxicity. Turinal could not influence fenpropathrin (FP) to prevent abortion.3.Growing condition after being poisoned by fenpropathrin (FP) implied that fenpropathrin (FP) toxicity might transfer to embryo through placenta to induce the side effect, and to create harmful effects to embryonic development, to result in embryonic death and depauperate, when different dosages of Formula Zhuyun III were used to prevent miscarriage, the growing rate were raised, It showed that Formula Zhuyun IQ could affect embryonic development whilst maternal rats being poisoned by fenpropathrin, and the positive correlation existed.4. The reproductive capacity of male rats would change after being poisoned by fenpropathrin (FP), the quality of sperm were degraded and the anisotrophy of sperm were increased , it might be harmful to generator cell. Shenqiwan decoction that a herbal formula for supplementing the kidney has reproductive protection, it could decrease harmfulness to reproductive capacity whilst male rats being poisoned by fenpropathrin.Conclusion1. Fenpropathrin(FP ) is a typical medicine which proved its reproductive toxicity leading to pregnant defect and abortion. It could affect the embryo and its development.2. From the view point of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Fenpropathrin (FP ) ,one of the factors in the environmental pollution, was treated as a kind of toxin. It could affect the embryo and pregnant mother among dysfunction of organ, imbalance of Yin-yan and damage of reproductive system which could lead to abortion. It also could affect the reproductive capacity of father ,make the reproductive capacity disorder.3. Chinese herbal medicine coule resist fenpropathrin(FP) toxicity, formula Zhuyun III that strengthening the spleen and supplementing the kidney could make the abortion rate fell obviously. It could also accelerate the infant development. It might be caused by the regulation of endocrine and immune system. Formula Shenqiwan that supplementing the kidney could increase the production of sperm, and decrease the anisotrophy of sperm, It also might be caused by the regulation of endocrine, and protect the function of generator cell. According to the results, we believe that the medicine with strengthening function of kidney and spleen had a great potential to interfere ECDs reproductive toxicity and to avoid harmfulness to reproductive capacity.
