| 1. A Retrospective Study of Transesophageal Echocardiography in Thoracic Aortic Diseases47 patients suspected to have aortic diseases were studied by transesophageal echocardiography(TEE). Aortic dissection was identified in 18 patients, aortic dilation in 15 patients, and 9 patients in whom aortic disease was not found. By compared with DSA, MRI and surgical findings, we found that TEE is a sensitive and convenient method for the definitive diagnosis of thoracic aortic disease. In addition, our initial experience suggested that multiplane TEE provided incremental diagnostic information that enhances the interpretative ability by compared with single and biplane TEE.2. Measurements of Thoracic Aorta in Normal Adults by Transesophageal EchocardiographyTransesophageal echocardiography(TEE), as one of the main diagnostic techniques, has widely used in the diagnosis of thoracic aortic diseases. As the use of TEE increases, the importance of normal dimension measurements of thoracic aorta is also increased. Presently, almost no data exist on the echocardiographic measurements of the dimension in thoracic aorta. Therefore, the 2-dimensional echocardiographic data of thoracic aorta in 29 healthy volunteers were... |
