Objective:To evaluate the feasibility of CT pulmonary function imaging with emphasis on the results of the correlation between CT imaging parameters and that of pulmonary function test.Materials and Methods:There were 84 persons involved the study, that included normal volunteer and suspected COPD, interstitial disease. Finally 69 persons were enrolled the finally study, that included 46 men and 23 women , aged from 22 to 77 years(mean 55.03 ± 13.92 years). Every patient performed his/her CT and pulmonary function test in one week. Spiral CT scans were obtained during breath hold at full inspiration and at full expiration. Spirometric gating was not used .Scans were performed from the lung bases to the lung apices .The following parameters were used: 120KVp, 170mA; one revolution per second ; 10 mm slice thickness ; 20mm/s table speed (pitch 2).Images were reconstructed by 10mm slice thickness and standard algorithm. Images were archived by 5-inch MO disc, and transferred digitally to person computer for analysis. One CT pulmonary functional quantitative software designed by author was used to analysis all images.
