| ObjectivesSubarachnoid hemorrhage following rupture of intracranial aneurysms leads to high mortality and morbidity. The most important aim of treatment is to protect from rebleeding. Embolization of aneurysms with coils greatly decreases the rate of rehemorrhaging. But it still happens for the chances of recanalization for coiled aneurysms. Matrix coil, biologically active material coated platinum coils, was designed to decrease the rate of recanalization. It is uncertain about the angiographic changes of intracranial aneurysms after embolization with Matrix. The objectives of this study to make sure of angiographic outcome of cerebral aneurysms embolized with Matrix coils and the related factors. At the same time to investigate the rate of recurrent rupture of ruptured intracranial aneurysms after embolization by clinical follow-up and literature review.MethodsPart I : All patients with intracranial aneurysms coiled with Matrix coils in our department were included and there was no special inclusion critera. According to our design, the duration of follow-up was 12 months. But it changed in terms of initial percentage of occlusion and aneurysmal size. All the patients followed up received digital substraction angiography through the femoral artery under local anesthesia. At least three projections angiography including anterior-posterior projection, lateral projection and optimal working... |
