BackgroundNowadys, drug toxicity has been taken more and more seriously. Preclinical safety evaluation becomes one of the most important parts in drug evaluation. Because of their reduced use of experimental animals, lower costs and rapid performance., in vitro systems as alternatives to whole animal testing of drugs' toxiicity has been widely used in the area of drug preclinical safety evaluation.Moreover, in vitro models allow the use of specific endpoints to determine the targets of toxic effects with great precision and reproducibility. Also, it is suitable to the drug high throughout screening (HTS).Kidney is one of the major target organs of drug -induced nephrotoxicity. The evaluation of nephrotoxicity is one of the essential parts of drug safety evaluation.
