Ferrate(VI) is a kind of multi-functional water treatment reagent with high efficiency and good prospect. The novel technology process of on-site generation of ferrate(VI) is raised as well as the kinetics mechanism of gas-liquid reaction which Cl2 reacts with Fe(OH)3 is discussed. The system analysis of the technology process is accomplished Furthermore,the experimental research on ammunition destruction wastewater, EDTA wastewater containing copper(Ⅱ) ion and hospital effluent treated by Na2FeO4 which produced from the newly technology process is carried on Some conclusions are drawn below.1.It is proved that (Fe)3+ is the main impurity during the preparation of K2FeO4. High-purityK2FeO4(>99%) can be obtained after centrifugalization and two-stage purification Aimingat solving the problems in the classical titration, 4 pieces of advice are given The precisionand accuracy of analytical method for (FeO4)2- is greatly increased after improvement. Themethod that can remove the disturbance of Fe3+ is found in the spectrophotometry of (FeO4)2- Both (FeO4)2- and ClO- could be determined accurately when the two kinds of ion coexist in the solution.2.The minimum concentration of NaOH which can guarantee production of (FeO4)2- is 5mol/l.This gas-liquid reaction is a typically slow process, and the reaction in the liquid phase isthe rate-controlling step. The rate equation of the total reaction can be described as γ=1.85×10-7CFeCl31.18COH-2.09CCl20.55, activation energy Ea=146.9×103J/mol. Moreover,several efficient ways of producing ferrate(VI) are indicated on the basis of micro- and macro-kinetics analysis about the gas-liquid reaction.3.The experimental apparatus of on-site generation ferrate(VI) sodium which is called"electrolytic both-loop reactor" is designed and manufactured. The factors that influencethe reaction system are investigated.
