Sandwich-type phthalocyaninato complexes, in which two or three tetrapyrrole ligands are held by various metal ion(s) in close proximity, have been extensively studied for several decades. Owing to the unique optical, electrical, and magnetic properties, associated with the intriguing intramolecular π-π interactions, these complexes represent an important class of molecular materials for a wide range of applications. Recently, the sandwich-type phthalocyaninato double and/or triple -deckers have attracted great attention owing to their potential applications in materials science, mainly including molecular electronics, molecular Optronics, molecular iono-electronics, chemical sensors, electrochromism, non-linear optics, electocatalysis, liquid crystals. Such a wide range of applications arises from the large and flat π-conjugation system of phthalocyanines and the type of central metal. Electronic interactions between sandwich-type phthalocyaninato π systems held in close preximity by rare earth ions play a crucial role in various systems such as molecular metalloorganic conductors. In this regard, lanthanide phthalocyanine sandwich complexes are attractive models, and an understanding of their optical properties may provide insight into how the electronic properties of dimeric or multichromophoric species influence the initial stages of the charge separation process. Our research work has been focused on the following respects:1.Aggregation Behavior of Heteroleptic Tris(phthalocyaninato) Dysprosium Complexes with Different Alkoxy Chains in Monolayer or Multiplayer Solid FilmsThree heteroleptic tris(phathlocyaninato) dysprosium triple-decker complexes with different alkoxy groups at the peripheral positions of the medium phthalocyanine ligand (Pc)Dy[Pc(OCnH2n+1)8]Dy(Pc) (n = 4,8,16) (I-III) [Pc = unsubstituted phthalocyaninate; Pc(OC4H9)82,3,9,10,16,17,23,24-octakis(butyloxy)phthalocyaninate; Pc(OC8H17)82,3,9,10,16,17,23,24-octakis(octyloxy)phthalocyaninate; Pc(OC 16H33)82,3,9,10,16,17,23,24-octakis(hexadecyloxy)phthalocyaninate] have been synthesized...
