In this paper,intensive,all—around study was carried out to investigate the in—situ polymerization polyazomethine (PAM)/nylon — 6 molecular composite from the aspect of sub —micro morphology structure —preperties.PAM/nylon — 6 molecular composite with different chemical structure of PAM was prepared by means of in — situ polymerization in this paper, all-around test and chracterization were carried out to all the system's molecular composite. FT — IR analysis showed that: there is PAM rigid chain macro-molecule in the in situ polymerization PAM/nylon—6 molecular composite. DSC analysis showed that: the introduction of rigid chain PAM macromolecule made the melting point of the molecular composite to lower than that of the pure nylon — 6, which caused the modification of the properties of the molecular composite.TEM and SEM methods were used to investigate the sub — micro morphology of PAM/nylon—6 molecular composite with different chemical structure of PAM . The result of TEM observation show that: PAM and nylon —6 composite can reach the molecular coposite level by means of in —situ polymerization. Rigid chain PAM can unformely dispersed in nylon—6, Its morphology structure is mostly in the single — chain or chain bunch; the diameter of chain bunch is 10-7 (<50a). Rigid chain PAM and nylon — 6 could composite fairly well, there is not inter — face present.The observation by means of SEM show that the state in which the rigid chain PAM in nylon — 6 is rod shape crystal which use chain or chain — bunch as core, and nylon —6 as coating. Its morphology mostly is the structure of different shape ,which composite of rod shape body, one of this random net —shape structure is the key factor that determine the property of molecular composite. PAM with different chemical structure have different morphology structure. Morphology structure change with the content of PAM, which has a " critical morphology". In the three PAM system which studied by this paper, in the scale the PAM's content range from 0 to 10% , "the critical morphology" of composite appear when the content of PAM is 7. 5%.
