Study Of The Efficacy And Mechanism Of Action Of Chinese Medicine Tongfengning On Rats With Acute Gouty Arthritis

Purpose: To study effects of TongFengNing(TFN) on gouty arthritis.Methods: Take the adjunvant arthritis rats as animal model for gouty arthritis, which were treated with TEN and Indomethacin .And observed the swelling of metatarsophalangeal joints ,multi- arthritis and hestopathology in joint inflammation. We used various means including immunohistochemstry and insitu hybridization etc, to detect the effects of TFN on the swelling of metatarsophalangeal joints, the infection of white blood cells(WBC), the size of micrangiums, the numbers of monosodium uratc (MSU), and the secretion of tumor necrosis factor (TNF-a ) , the expression of nuclear transcription factor-kappa B(NF-kB), Caspase-3, and vascular cellular Adhesion molecule-1 (VCAM-1).Results: TFN can decline significantly the swelling of metatarsophalangeal joints, the numbers of MSU and WBC, the expression of NF-kB, VCAM-1.Meanwhile, TFN can increase significantly the expression of Caspase-3. Conclusion: TFN can change effectively the clinical symptoms of gouty arthritis.
