Nowadays,Zinc deficiency is generally spread to the world, because its potential dangre,especially to children, Zinc deficiency is a hot issue in the last 20 years 。 The effects of electro-acupuncture to zinc absorption and usage and cell cycle, and itsinfluence on T lymphocyte subunits of the thymus and spleen were studied during or afterestablishing the model of zinc deficiency(ZD)in rats. 1. Bilateral"Zusanli" 36)were punctured during the establishment ofthe model of zinc (STdeficiency(ZD)in rats:Thirty male Wistar rats were randomly divided into three groups, in 10each. They were the normal group, zinc deficiency group and zinc deficiency + acupuncturegroup. The normal group was fed with normal zincdiet, the zinc deficiency group and zincdeficiency + acupuncture group was fed wiht zinc deficient diet, and zinc deficiency groupaccepted acu-puncture treatment every two days on bilateral "Zusanli"(ST 36) at the sametime for 21 days. The findings were as follows:There was no significant difference in zinccontents in serum of zinc deficiency + acupuncture(ZD+EA) group and the normal(N)group(P>0.05),but the zinc contents in serum of the zinc deficiency(ZD) group were significantlylower than the normal(N)group ( P<0.05 ) .The food intake of zinc deficiency +acupuncture(ZD+EA) group was significantly higher than the zinc deficiency(ZD) group(P<0.05).Acupuncture increased the zinc contents in serum and food intake and body weightof rats. Testis weightof zinc deficiency + acupuncture group(ZD+EA) was also significantlyhigher than that zinc deficiency(ZD) group(P<0.01).From these results, we can assume thatacupuncture can slow the zinc deficient procedure in the situation of decreasing zinc level inrats. 2. Bilateral "Zusanli"(ST 36)were punctured after the establishment of the zincdeficiency(ZD) model in rats:Wistar rats(n=140) were randomly divided into two groups;normal group(n=34)and model group(n=106). Normal group was fed with normal zinc dietwhereas model group was fed with zinc deficient diet. after 25 days, model group wasrandomly divided into four groups.After that,normal(N) group, zinc efficient(ZE)group andzinc efficient+electro-acupuncture(ZE+EA) group were fed by normal zinc diet, zincDeficiency(ZD) group and zinc Deficiency+electro-acupuncture group(ZD+EA) were fed withzinc deficient diet for 10 days. The two electro-acupuncture(EA) groups got acupuncturetreatment every day at the same time.The findings were as follows: 2.1 The body weight,weight of organs and feed efficiency:ZE group was inclinedto beheavier than the ZE+EA group whereas ZD+EA group was inclined to be heavier than the ZDgroup. The zinc content in serum of the ZD group was inclined to higher than other groups. TheZn/Cu rate in serum of the ZE group was more likely to close to the N group than the ZDgroup's does,the Zn/Cu rate of the ZE+EA group, ZD+EA group of the thymus and spleen6 电针大鼠足三里穴促进锌吸收及其对T细胞免疫相关性的研究were more inclined to be close to the N group than the ZE group and the ZD group,respectively. AKP in serum of the Model group, before EA treatment, was significantly higherthan the N group, after EA treatment of the ZD+EA group, the ZE+EA group inclined to behigher than the ZD group and the ZE group, respectively. The A/G rate in serum before EAtreatment, there was no diference between the Model group and the N group, after EAtreatment.Any deference occurred between the ZE group and the ZE+EA group, but in theZD+EA group it was significantly higher than the ZD group. 2.2 Among the cell cycles of the thymus and spleen cells, after EA treatment, theportion of G2+M and S phase cells and the proliferative index(PI) of the ZE+EA,ZD+EAgroups were inclined to be higher than the N group and also higher than the ZE, the ZD groups,respectively.
