The study mainly composed by four sections. First, we designed the methodology line on studying active constituents of the decoction pieces. Second, based on the methodology line we compiled software that can help execute the methodology line and analysis the data after using it. Third, according the designed methodology line, we studied Radix Salviae Miltiorrhizae decoction and proved the practicability of the methodology line. Fourth, according the designed methodology line, we studied Rhizoma Chuanxiong decoction in practice and also proved the practicability of the methodology line.The methodology line on the effective constituents of traditional Chinese drug decoction pieces is to demonstrate the dynamitic course of the effective constituents by comparing the components of the crude drug, the decoction pieces, urine and tissue. The software was compled with Visual Basic 2005, and GDI+ was taken as the graphic interface. Lipid soluble components in Radix Salviae Miltiorrhizae and Rhizoma Chuanxiong cannot be extracted by water to be taken by oral. Most constituents of Radix Salviae Miltiorrhizae in the blood are not the original configuration.
