Objective: to probe the influence of The Book of Changes philosophical idea on establishing the theory of traditional Chinese medicine. Methods: The contributions of The Book of Changes on theory formation of traditional Chinese medicine were extremely excavated by retrieving the correlated documents with The Book of Changes and traditional Chinese medicine, combining with studying The Book of Changes and traditional Chinese medicine, especially in the face of The Book of Changes philosophical thinking method on theory formation of traditional Chinese medicine. Contents and Results: Traditional Chinese medicine originated from The Book of Changes; traditional Chinese medicine was close with The Book of Changes; traditional Chinese medicine studied physical healthy which was established on the base of drawing from the philosophical thinking. Conclusions: Traditional Chinese medicine caming from The Book of Changes; the "pneuma to matter" theory in the The Book of Changes was the description of the cosmo-all things production and the human origination; the yin and yang interacting and mild in The Book of Changes was the highest state of traditional Chinese medicine.
