Studies On The Character-Words Of Hakka Dialect

After pointed out the main problem in today抯 study of Hakka dialect vocabulary is ? short of deepgoing study which excavates Character-Words, the paper tries to make study on Character-Words of Hakka Dialect梥ome words which often can be seen in Hakka dialect area but seldom seen in other dialect area They can be divided into 搈orphology Character-Words?and 損honetics Character-Words?from its character; 揹ialect area Character-Words?and 揹ialect part Character-Words?from its grade; 揅haracter-Words rarely seen in other dialect?and 揅haracter-Words seen in another dialect?from its outside behave. Based on today抯 achievement, the questionnaire was made. After overall investigation and deepgoing study ,the paper extracts 187 dialect area Character-Words and 54 dialect pelt Character-Words which were proved valid and rational by examination. So there is a reference standard to test a dialect whether is Hakka dialect or not and to judge the relation between Hakka dialect and a neighbouring dialect is close or distant. All these are useful to discuss the character of Hakka dialect words and Hakka culture. The main methods of this paper are statistics, geographical indications, morphological comparison, meaning analysis and the method of back to the source. The main conclusions of this paper are: 1. Hakka dialect of headquarters can be divided into the south part ,the north part and ? the part mixed with south and north. 2. Hakka dialect is originated from the Chinese of Central Plains and formed in the south hill area. It抯 a hill language. 3. Hakka dialect and Gan dialect were an organic whole in the initial stage. After their separation, they developed differently and became today抯 feat~ires. The relation of Hakka dialect and Gan dialect gave way to that of Hakka dialect and Yue dialect. 4. The relation of Hakka dialect and Yue dialect was set up mainly by immigration of Zha ii Xi鄋ginNorthofYue. 5. The relation of Hakka dialect and Mm dialect was established mostly by the ancestors of South of Mm.
