Literary Autonomy

The concept of literature autonomy is often used in the learning circle. However, it is until now that people have never achieved a unanimous agreement about what is literature autonomy and at what level to confirm it. The above status has influenced literature production and critics. So, it is evidently necessary to roundly clarify the pervading ideas of literature autonomy and open out the basic meanings of the concept and its idiographic presentation and appearance.The dissertation systematically cleans up the using situations of the literature autonomy, differentiates and analyses some differences and localizations among them. For example, many doctrines of modern times in western world mainly researched this problem on three ways of aesthetics, linguistics and sociology. In new periods of China, the literature autonomy was put forward aimed at the political rough intervence into literature activity. These doctrines enhance our understanding of the literature laws, while there also appears some prejudices about the concept among them, most of which tried to establish a pure realm of literature through dividing the relationship between literature and society, but this way does not conform to the practice of literature existence.The paper also systematically reviews the basic meanings and idiographic representations of the literature autonomy. Firstly, it discriminates the philosophic meanings of the concept, points out that only in the contradictive move between limitation and transcendence, that is to say, in the sensible literature activity ,can it exist. It is as well as only from the transcendence out of limitation and bondage that can writers get their own autonomy.The literature autonomy is the basic character of literature, which all the time exists in the history course of literature development. There exist different factors that can influence and limit human's subsistence and development in different phase of the human society. The above social and historical differences result in different ideas of literature autonomy. The theme of literature, the center of aesthetic evaluation and considering ways all embody certain epoch characteristics. However, it is under certain historical conditions that the literature represents their transcendent and autonomous persuits.
