Heritage And Change. Wang Zhaojun Story

The history fact of Wang Zhao-jun was firstly recorded in the Ban Gu's book Han Shu. Because historical records were very brief and short of panorama, therefore, all kinds of rich and colorful stories about Wang Zhao-jun began to derive from the folklore in the Wei Jin and Nan Bei Dynasties. There from, the story of Wang Zhao-jun, came into the literature realm from history story. Among all stories, the one of "Wang Zhao-jun and Painter" recorded in the Ge Hong's Xi Jing Za Ji was full of romanticize and profuse culture meaning. It not only accorded with the common people's appreciation, but also corresponded to the literature's mentality. Because of this, it obtained forever charm and spreaded widely. It also became a core and radiant point of Wang Zhao-jun story's evolvement. Wang Zhao-jun stories of the later ages often obtained material from it or evolved from it.The Tang and Song Dynasties were the period of the story booming and developing. In this period, many imageries were formed, condensed and distilled. Wang Zhao-jun Bian Wen of the Tang Dynasty had an important action in the inheriting the past and usher in the future in the development of the story of Wang Zhao-jun. Ma Zhi-yuan's Han Gong Qiu, one of the Yuan Dynasty's poetic dramas set to music, was a milestone in the history of Zhao-jun story's development. It marked that the story of Zhao-jun was finalized the design initially. The story of Zhao-jun after this was charging slowly following the way used by Han Gong Qiu. The Ming Dynasty's poetic drama He Rang Ji and Qing Dynasty's novel Shuang Feng Qi Yuan produced many changes in the inheriting and developing the Zhao-jun story. The story of Wang Zhao-jun was composed of Han Shu, Xijing zaji, Wang zhao-jun Bian Wen, Han Gong Qiu, He Rong Ji, Shuang Feng Qi Yuan. They pushed the Zhao-jun story which seemed a snowball forward together.In the progress of sorting out and understanding the literature material about the story of Wang Zhao-jun such as Poems, Articles, Bian Wen, Ci and Qu, Novels and Dramas, the author of this dissertation analyzed and synthesized the story of Wang Zhao-jun comprehensively. With the longitude of Dynasties and the latitude of the authors and works in the same period, the author also constructed the progress of the Wang zhao-jun story's development as a whole. The stories of Wang Zhao-jun were divided into two systems, one written by scholars and the other produced in folklore. The author researches them with stereoscope way which break through the predecessors' simple plain research situation. In the comparative research, with the way of seeking the source and course, the author reveals that the age's trend of thought, the authors, the works, the common customs, the mind of scholars, the spread and accept had effect on the development of Zhao-jun story. The author also explores various restrain relations and law of development attempting to provide helpful experiences for the research of the same subject.
