Wang Fuzhi's poetric theories are known to be an organic unity of the Confuscious literary theories and aestheticism. His poetric theories are rather abstruse due to the complicated inner linkage of such formative system. To understand such difficult poetric theories, one of the approach is to study the composition factors of the poetric structure, which is what we called "the Thematical Areas of Poetries".This thesis plans to investigate the various themes present in Wang's poetric theories, and anaylsis his poetric structure and the components of it, thereby outlying the "Thematical Areas of Poetries" and elaborating the concepts of the scope, hence illustrating its functions in the structure of his poems and the linkage between each subsequent themes. This thesis will first of all look into "the Thematical Areas of Poetries" present in Wang's poetric theories. According to research, there are 23 main themes present in his poetric theories. This thesis will look into 5 of them, namely Revitalization (Xing, 兴), Pratyaksa (Xianliang, 现量), Emotions(Qing, 情), Purpose (Yi, 意) and Tendency (Shi, 势), in depth. Based on the methods of research and the results of the research, I have classified the thesis into 6 parts: a chapter of preface, four chapters of main contents and a chapter of conclusion. The first chapter in the main contents will describe the multi-facets of Revitalization(Xing, 兴) during literary compositions and appreciation. Included in this chapter will also be a detailed description of how the development of Inspiration(Xinghui, 兴会) represents the innovative ideas in the composition process. The second chapter "Area Pratyaksa (Xianliang, 现量)" touches on the poetric aspects of Abhisamaya. When Abhisamaya is used in the poetric field, it becomes the core in Wang's poetric theories and the concept of time and space, the intuition of creative minds and the reality of poetric images surface.Chapter three "Area Emotions(Qing, 情)" elaborates the emotional aspects. The emotional aspect in Wang's poems is crucial to the entire process of aesthetic construction. From the point of poetric intrinsicity, "emotions" also reflects Wang's last ideal - to mould a person. This chapter can clearly show that Wang regarded the educational and the cultivation purposes of poetries important in poetry criticism. The forth chapter "Area Purpose (Yi, 意)and Tendency(Shi, 势)" discusses the poetric implications of Purpose and Tendency. Wang believed that a poet should maintain his write-with-a-purpose stand when it comes to composition. A poem should also include "Tendency(Shi, 势)" (one that is in accordance with the objective law) so that the image present in the poetries will possess a magical strength. Between Purpose and Strength is the relationship made up of the author's subjective will and the objective laws in reality. The above mentioned research and discussion should be an aid to profound knowledge and understanding of Wang's poetries.
