The swordsmen films- the new emerging thing of the 20th century is a modern branch of Chinese martial art. ( P15 << KNIFES and SWORDS FIGHTING MONTAGE >>producer: Chen Mo ) is a classic example. This type of films was made around 1920s and became popular in 1927. The early stage outstanding film representative was <> produced by Star film Studio. Up to the time Steven Chen made film << WU JI>> and Kan Chiu made <> in 2005 Chinese martial art films already had 80 years history. Swordsmen films are mature. In the 110 years of world film history, only American Western movies and Chinese martial art films have lasted so long and have such a great impact on the world film production. The special effects of swordsmen films give audience wonderful entertainment and arouse people's fantasy. Swordsmen film has its unique feature. It shows the justice of the society and sympathy to the poor and the weak. It punishes the evil and helps the good. It emotionally and morally appeals to every one. It became so popular and attractive that it is shown all over the world. Swordsmen films belong to China. Its development and maturity is well recognized. Yet there is still some prejudice over swordsmen films intellectually. Books and articles about swordsmen films are not many. Therefore, this article is to try to explore the academic theory of the swordsmen film and emphasize its value of aesthetic. Being the classic model of Chinese film, swordsmen films contain profound national spirit and historical tradition. To appreciate the beauty of swordsmen film we have to know and understand the long culture history of swordsmen film. This article first studies the culture ecology balance of swordsmen film and tries to completely clear line of thought of Chinese swordsmen film history. It deeply searches the entertainment, commercial, and national feature of swordsmen film. The important point of this article is the understanding of swordsmen film's aesthetics. At this section it comprehensively and systematically studies the three dimension combination of " chivalrous, martial, and affection". It studies and analyzes the development of legend, action, and martial art. It also studies the connection of Chinese swordsmen film with the tradition of our national aesthetics. In this article we have studied the modern variety of Chinese swordsmen films and its appearance in various moves. That is why Chinese swordsmen film could stand up in our time. It is the film's commertialization and globalism that made film " CROUCHING TIGER HIDDEN DRAGON" commertialized and made some profit. Film "CROUCHING TIGER HIDDEN DRAGON" succeeded in changing the traditional way of making film. This film created a new way to make Chinese film to enter international market. Finally in this article Chinese swordsmen films' position With the commercialization and globalism of Chinese films this article has some practical meaning to the appreciation of Chinese swordsmen films. Since the day films are showing on screens they have both commercial and entertainment effect and the function of culture transmission and entertainment as well. It is the highly attention, well management, the update improvement and the spirit of spreading American culture that made American Hollywood to become world movie making king. Looking at the last century film history we realized that the first film prosperous time was in 1920's. Although we only had soundless films yet they were commercialized and this made shanghai to become Chinese commercial film center and culture center, as well. Later due to the reason known to us all, Chinese films were politically controlled and oriented. Then Hong kong film makers seized the opportunity and became the second commercial Chinese film center (very coincidently swordsmen films were the main current and center of the two big commercial upsurges).
