The period from the 19th century to the whole 20th century is a historic period that the tremendous transitions have taken place in China. From the Wuxu Reform, the Xinhai Revolution to the New-democratic Revolution leaded by Communist Party, our nationality walked toward modernization to revive ethos and recur resplendence in order to establish a self-governed and powerful nation-state. This paper tries to approach how the Chinese female discover the sense of self-existence for female and find the trace they exploring and considering in the process of modernization enlightenment, by studying the themes on narrative of modern female 1919-1949.The 1^st and 2^nd chapter reviews the ideology, culture and system factors resulted in the traditional identity and status of Chinese female by using mainly the theory of "Gender System" for reference and combining with the viewpoint of female life three levels mode from Dorothy Ko. The 3^th to 5^th chapter puts forward three themes and unscrambles the text by referring the theory viewpoint about self in the modernity theory and combining with the theme tendency reflected by narrative of modern female.The 1^st chapter mainly reviews the ideology, culture and system resulted in the traditional female identity, status and role connotation by using the concept of "Gender System" and the viewpoint of female life three levels mode. And it believes that female accepted the frame about the universe-world order explained by tian and ming and idea of yin-yang in the traditional culture and idea and was enslaved to the discourse- practice system.
