Song Dynasty Zhizhi Shi System

This dissertation researches the subject of Military Commissioner(Zhizhishi) inSung Dynasty. Based on the earlier scholars' work, the dissertation will discuss thetopic on three aspects.Firstly, it differentiates two sorts of Zhizhishi. The Military Commissionertransformed a non-martial position to a martial position which was appointed by theCourt to cope with wars.Secondly, the dissertation recounts the evolution process of this martial position,Zhizhishi. It also expatiates some contents including the function, pluralities, assistantand qualification of Zhizhishi.Thirdly, to explain the wartime system, the dissertation mainly discusses someimportant questiones which are connected with the Military Commissioner Institution.This dissertation is consist of five main parts. The contents will outline the wartimesystem dominated by civilians under the politics and culture circumstances in SungDynasty.
