The Theory And Construction Of The Lexicon In The Framework Of 《Meaning-Text》 Model

An Explanatory Combinatorial Dictionary of Modern Russian (ECD) as the lexicon in the framework of the Meaning–Text Model (MTT) of Moscow Semantic School has achieved a successful harmony between modern linguistic theories and practical linguistics—lexicography. ECD presents a new type of Semantic Dictionary with the salient particularities—activity, systematism and formalization. ECD is a universal dictionary. It contains word definition, synonyms, antonyms, conversive, hypernym, idiom, word-building, collocation, syntactic and encyclopedic informations. Study of the theories and organization of ECD, analysis of the virtues, defects and compilation of Chinese semantic dictionary with the help of theories and methods of ECD have a great academic and practical value.This dissertation systematically describs the theoretic foundation of ECD—semantic metalanguage, Russian valency theory and Lexical Functions, the composition of vocabulary and structure of ECD entry are analysed. By a comparative study of ECD and Chinese, English, Russian semantic dictionaries, the virtues and defects of ECD are throughly analysed. A framework of An Explanatory Combinatorial Dictionary of Modern Chinese is presented on the basis of theories and methods of ECD and some entries-simples are compiled.Hopefully, this dissertation can provide a reference for Chinese linguistic study, language teaching, bilingual lexicography (Russian-Chinese or Chinese-Russian Explanatory Combinatorial Dictionary) and Chinese corpora building, etc.
