National unity education is an important way for a multi-ethnic country to train members of the community owning awareness of unity. China is a unified multi-ethnic country, and national unity related to national unity, social stability and common development of all ethnic groups, thus it is a long and difficult social engineering to impose systematic and effective national unity education on all citizens. Since the founding of new China, Party and the country has been constantly carrying out national unity education, and have achieved outstanding results. According to the needs of the new development situation, it is very necessary for the education to achieve innovate and to achieve breakthroughs.Papers hold both theoretical and practical point of view. First, from the height of the construction of multi-ethnic ideology, sense of national unity will be seen as an important part of multi-ethnic ideology, it has a dynamic role in leading national unity behavior and creating national unity situation. Meanwhile, that education is mentioned as the basic approach training national unity consciousness for all citizens. Based on the practical point of view, I divided education content into three areas hired historical research method, Training national identity of all ethnic groups through patriotic education, Understanding ethnic phenomenon and ethnic issues through ethnic theory education, Rationalizing and promoting ethnic relations towards harmony through ethnic policy education, I divided the education course into three stages. In order to reflect the continuity, the Communist Party of China's national unity education before the founding of New China is summarized. The features of New China's national unity education were summarized as triple forms of education, Long dominated by the party and the state, Attention to the declaration of core values. Other contents includes national unity education and the results were summed up as an important part of soft power, continue to regulate the conduct of national affairs and national contacts, a large number of typical character and outstanding deeds emerged.Following the discovery issues, ideas to solve the problem, papers shows challenges that current national unity education is facing was summarized, as how to adapt to the new features of the ethnic issues, how to adapt to the growing ethnic work of the new needs of society, how to form a unified understanding. To explore how to achieve breakthrough in national unity education, accurately to understand the meaning of education of national unity, educational practice of national unity of the whole society of were proposed, and four changes in national unity education.As the content of national unity is three-dimensional, in the sense of identity (attitudes, emotional) level is a progressive and gradual upgrading, according to the characteristics of the object of education, combined with the specific task of education, educational programs for national unity should be methodical designed. To meet the national trend of social work, we should realize education practice to achieve full vertical and horizontal socialization of the whole society. In connection with the needs of the times, to achieve the "center of gravity down", "Knowledge and Action", "love both Lee", "out-set" changes, in order to achieve national unity education adapt to times.The meaning of education on national unity, mechanisms, ways and means of implementation, the main experience of specific practices and the different characteristics of the times were teased out with the method of literature analysis. Through field research and case analysis, the theory which was concluded in the papers were validated and showed. Ethnic politics, sociology, philosophy and other disciplines, principles were used, that is multi-interdisciplinary research.The main value and innovation of the paper as follows, broaden and extend the educational content of national unity, three-dimensional interpreted the content of national unity education, proposed to put country-led national unity of political dimensions and social dimensions of national unity based on ethnic understanding together, described national unity education run through the process of socialism building with Chinese characteristics, and it has become "soft power" which enhance national cohesion,closed ethnic relations, theoretically described status and role of national unity in ideology of multi-ethnic country, content of national unity education, composition of national unity education project and approaches, which is more clear understand national unity theoretically, reviewed and sum up experience, achievements and shortcomings national unity education since the founding of new China, gave a series of advices in national unity education with the current new features,new situations and changes of ethnic problems.The inadequacies of the paper is studying the microscopic guidance is not sufficient, because the development of ethnic relations is different form groups and areas. These situation require developing targeted teaching content and strategy, combining the actual situation of different local conditions. Therefore, the study of microscopic teaching remains to be depth.
