Sino-us Diplomatic Ideological Tradition Of Comparative Analysis

The Sino-U.S. relation is the most important one among the Chinese foreign relationships. A healthy and steady Sino-U.S. relation does not only accord with two countries' interests, but also helps to keep the world peace and prompt man's development. There are many common interests in the diplomatic field, but because of many differences betweens two countries, such as historical culture, regime, ideology and traditional thought, etc., the development of the Sino-U.S. relation has been ups and downs. This dissertation focuses on the tradition of diplomatic thoughts and uses the basic method of historical materialism and dialectical—materialism, uses western international relations academic main mode for reference, such as realism, idealism, structure function analysis, world system analysis and so on. Adopt the traditional ways—politics, economy, geopolitics, culture, ideology and religion to carry through textual research. From the track of historical diplomatic development, choose some typical diplomatic affairs and representatives figures, have positivism analysis, abstract material contents in each traditions of diplomatic thoughts, by the analytical method to research the commonness and speciality of the two countries to meet the need of reality and future, seek common points while reserving difference promote cooperation. The topic of this dissertation is to take the advantage active factors, rid the disadvantages, and expand some ways to research the Sino-U.S. relation in order to provide a reference to the healthy and stable relations.The author thinks that although the Sino-U.S. relation focuses on realistic politics, economy, military, strategy and their interrelations and functions. There is no doubt that they are the essential aspects and they reflect the interests that the two countries pursuit. But the factors that influence the relations are of long standing and ineradicable are traditions diplomatic thoughts. The thoughts always penetrate the people's consciousness, then form relatively steady thoughts structure to play the important role potentially, and represent the basic characteristic in the diplomatic activity. One of the main purposes in this article is to try to explore the major connotation of diplomatic traditions and make them systematical and theoretical.This dissertation consists of ten chapters except the abstract and the introduction. The introduction summarizes the main intention and theoretical meaning, generalizes briefly the status in quo and related achievement at home and abroad in this field, definitudes the instructive thought and analytical frame, introduces the study method, points out the textual innovation and shortage and effort direction. Chapter one is about the diplomacy and diplomatic traditional thoughts, mostly introduces the definition to diplomacy and traditional thoughts in ancient and modern, Chinese and foreign, moreover analyses them, concludes the intrinsic value regulation. Then defines the concept of diplomatic and traditional thoughts in this paper.Chapter two and Chapter three deal with separately the main contents of tradition of diplomatic thoughts in China and America. The Chinese tradition of diplomatic thoughts include celestial thought, home country consciousness, peaceful idea, juste---milieu, integer thinking and empiricism. The American tradition of diplomatic thoughts include American exception, superiority, leadership, utilitarianism, Pragmatism and interest paramount. Chapter four touches on the effect of physical geography to form the tradition of diplomatic thoughts. The author analyses how the Chinese people and American people construct their own national diplomatic tradition thought in their specifically physical geography environment.
