Accordingly, this dissertation consists mainly of two parts : the first part is to interpret the essential meaning of Marx's theory of three social orders , the process of its forming , the relation between this theory and Marx's other theories of social order , the reasons of regarding the evolvement of three social orders as a general law of historical development ; the second part is to analyses the essential character and main duty of China's transformation to modern society according to the law of evolvement of three social orders. The dissertation is divided into six chapters.Chapter I discusses the essential meaning of Marx's theory of three social orders. The later half of chapter introduces various understandings to the theory of three social orders evoked by the discussion of economic social formation, points out the drawbacks of and the author's disproval to the idea that economic social formation only exists in a definite historical period.
