From Conflict To Integration

Ethnic political relation, which includes relations between Minzu and Minzu, between Minzus and nations, deeply exerte influence to the political situation of multinational countries and the whole trend of world politics. For this, it become the important research field of ethnic politics. Basic pattern of ethnic political relations is focused in the thesis, ethnic conflict and ethnic integration are primary study, and the research goal is giving some thinking in preventing, suppressing and resolving ethnic conflict, increasing efficiency of ethnic management in multinational countries.As a group, though MINZU has different types, such as race groups, ethnic groups and tribes. All the groups are stable human interest communities In essence, Meanwhile, they belong to different countries. Every Minzu will pursue and protect their interest, and every multinational country acts the function to distribute and to guarantee interest among Minzus, these conducts and actions must draw support from politics system and politics power. Ethnic political relation is just the complicated and interaction relation revolving collective interest between Minzu and Minzu, between Minzus and nations. Conflict pattern and integration pattern of ethnic political relation were brought about sharing interest or monopolizing interest. Matching along with two patterns are the political behaviors of Ethnic conflict and ethnic integration. For multinational country, dealing with ethnic conflict and keeping ethnic integration are two sides following with each other of ethnic management. The effect and efficiency of dealing with ethnic conflict and keeping ethnic integration both depend on the ethnic politics value pursued the nation and depend on the nation's ability of applying skills in ethnic management. Research approach of comparative politics and documentary approach are the primary approach employed in the thesis, and the important subjects consist of general study in ethnic conflict at home and abroad, types of mankind groups, concept of ethnic conflict, classification in ethnic conflict, causes of ethnic conflict, mechanism and process of ethnic conflict. Particularly, ethnicity theory, ethnic mobilization theory, collective behavior theory and nationalism theory are combining employed in learning ethnic conflict, these theories provide new and wide visual angle to profoundly understand and to know well about ethnic conflict. Moreover, based on the ethnic collective psychology theory and study, we can well understand the taking place of ethnic conflict, complexity,subtlety and levity of its development.On the basis of previous study, the concept, pattern, and implementation strategy of ethnic integration were accordingly and ulteriorly elaborated in my thesis. in contrary to ethnic conflict, ethnic integration is the good state of relation between Minzu and Minzu, between Minzu and nation, it represents reconciliation, cooperation and friendship. It is the duty-bound for a sovereignty to set ethnic political relation, to carry out international ethnic management. It is no doubt that better doing in ethnic management is a sovereignty's responsibility. A sovereignty should work out and execute necessary policy and measures to eliminate and ease conflict and contradiction generating from competition in national politics construction, economic interest, cultural right and social resource among Minzus, to effectively enhance integration, to promote stability and development of multinational country. From the view of history of ethnic political relation development, a conclusion that ethnic integration is the trend and the basic pattern of temporary ethnic political relation can be drew out, and three tactics for integrating, unit-integrating, hybrid-integrating and layer-integrating, are listed in the thesis. In the part of epilogue, I compared Chinese ethnic integration with western ethnic integration in order to show the distinguishing feature of ethnic management in China and the value of Chinese politics theory.Another distinguishing feature of the thesis lies in technical aspect. I classified the tactics, skills and measures for a multinational country to deal with ethnic conflict, to keep integration as control, absorption, identity management, ethnic participation in politics, ethnic autonomy, divide and rule, touch tactic, according to sequence of defining concept, displaying implement details, giving function analysis, assisting with instance, serving for practice, I provide people with the method and skill to deal with ethnic conflict and to keep ethnic integration. The study in skills take preceding study in theory as basis, and to test theory. Preceding study in theory call more study in skills, and serve theory for studying in skills.Though my ability is limited, I try to employ theory and research findings in political science, ethnology, sociology and psychology, to seek the topic and significance is important and applied, theoretical study is comprehensive and penetrative, technical study is elaborate and vivid, this is my guiding ideology and the individual feature that I want to attain. Some new minds and discussion reflect in synthesized study in ethnic conflict, elaborating on ethnic integration, classifying mankind groups, studying in ethnic autonomy, classifying nationalism and tactics for ethnic management. In addition, adequately using foreign documents, visiting Indian Territory also widens the field of view.
