The purpose of this study; is to investigate the effect of Tai Chi (TC) exercises on neuromuscular functions, proprioception, joints movements, joints angles, joints angular velocity, center of pressure (COP), and muscle latency for stability balance, followed by an unexpected treadmill disturbance in four conditions with opened and closed eyes conditions in elders of the lower extremities. Methods:32 people of age (60-70) years old subjects were divided into 2 groups, the first group were recently attended the lectures of Tai Chi for (1-3) years (TCA group), the second group were attended classes of Tai chi for approximately 10 years (TCB group). The result of this study showed significant differences between the two groups in joints angles, joint angular velocity, joint angular negative velocity, and muscle latency to the second group (TCB). Those results indicates that practicing TC for longer than 3 years improve those factors more than practicing Tai Chi less than 3 years. TC practitioners of more than 3 years may improve balance stability in the elderly. TC is stronger recommended as a regimen balance exercise to prevent the elderly from falling.tai chi exercise may have more benefit in retaining proprioception of the ankle, knee and hip joints, which may be valuable for maintaining balance control in the elderlv.
