Internationalization of model high school, mentioned hereafter in this dissertation, refers to processes or activities that attempt to induct international and cross-cultural perspectives into various aspects, e.g. aim, curriculum and management, of high school education. In the context of economic, social, and cultural globalization, internationalization of modern education is inevitable. Aims and attributes of model high school internationalization in China, nevertheless, are constrained by the object and the state of arts of Chinese high school education.Functions of model high school internationalization can be divided into four interactive aspects:(1) enhancing influences of a particular high school to an international dimension, (2) improving students'abilities of international communication, (3) polishing up teaching techniques by drawing lessons from foreign education, and (4) fostering students'awareness of international responsibility. These functions are direct responses of high school internationalization to economic, social, and cultural globalization of modern worlds, as well as self-containment of education. The four functions mentioned above constitute the framework to analyze the means of model high school internationalization.The internationalization of model high school involves exchanges at the levels of institute, curriculum and personnel, namely, international department, Confucius classroom, foreign curriculum, Sino-foreign cooperative curriculum, Chinese curriculum oriented to cultivate international students, extracurricular activities and Sino-foreign personnel communication. The analyses of the 7 factors above show that they contribute to realize the internationalization of model high school, and maintain a proportional relation between the four functions above. At the same time there is room for improvement such as to uniform the international departments' institutional system and to standardize the educational charges, by which means, the introduction of foreign curriculum contributes more to the local curriculum and provides more chances for Chinese teachers to communicate with foreign personnel and educational mode.The reason of inefficacy and deviation in the execution attribute to school's over emphasis on reputation and economic benefit. Only by creating an integrated international atmosphere of high school from the perspective of educational globalization for the purpose of cultivating international talents can educators execute the above means to the utmost extent, actualize the respective function of the educational internalization, and eventually achieve the goal of cultivating international talents.
