Ethics of campus refers to the sum total of the sacred and humane ethical relations in the campus and the spirits and wisdom bred in these relations. It includes the morality of campus itself and that of the educational relations in the campus. The core value pursued by it lies in the educational duty of "the community of education". To set the responsibility relation as the main relation in the campus is determined by the fulfillment of this responsibility. Meanwhile, the value orientation of the human relation care in the campus is promoted and the vulgarization and utilitarianism orientation is reduced at most. The modernity of China's education is the fruit of opening to the world, which has made the education's market property inevitable. But this should not be held as the excuse of abandoning the care spirit, let alone that of abandoning the basic function of fostering the students' liberal personality. Otherwise, the campus would have abandoned its ethical aim.After a research on 18 classes in 9 primary or middle schools in Nanjing City of Jiansu and the northern country of Jiansu, the following has been shown: (1) the school's ethical education has seldom been considered from the point of integral construction of campus ethics. It has attached more attention to the practical function of campus construction, but neglected its cultural connotation and educational function. (2) The students in primary and middle schools lead a relatively monotonous campus life, owing to the widespread tendencies: study-centeredness, great pressure of study, cutting down entertainment activities as much as possible. That is the cause why students' psychology health problems have high-frequently been found. (3) As the students' campus life in primary and middle school is not close to the system of natural ecology and lacks the deifying of human care spirit, they are relatively short of the spirit of self-dependence and care. Therefore, the present campus ethical construction in our primary and middle schools lacks a humane and natural ecological, multi-aspected measuring system, and the concept of integral construction of class-campus-family-community. The students' living circumstance hinders the formation and development of care and liberal personality. But some successful cases have also been found in the research-some schools have made great efforts to carry out the education of caring others, teach students how to care others and how to study and live.To realize the educational responsibility of the school education community, it is necessary to construct the campus ethics wisely and ecologically. This construction needs fusing and inheriting the quintessence of Chinese and western culture traditions, such as the rational thoughts of ethics in Chinese ancient Confucianism and Toasts and western Ethics of Care, so as to foster the cultural feature of solidarity, justice and respect in campus ethics.To be specific, in the construction of campus ethics, the principles that must be carried out all the way are: absorbing various cultures, infiltrating and uniting different systems and insisting on subject. Various strategies and measurements should be applied to form a consistent educational ecological system, such as to make use of the promotion function of education ethics, to construct the content and value system of campus life, to improve the teachers moral quality and human care spirit and to combine different educational influences.
