The history of human knowledge shows that self-awareness is not only the product of the knowledge that develops to the higher level, but also the strong power to enlarge this knowledge."for a branch of science, with its development, the achievements will be necessarily made in following two aspects: one is to go deep study into the subject investigated, and the other is into the subject itself. The development level of the latter indicates the ripeness of the subject." In a wide view of the existing results of relevant studies, although the plentiful and substantial results have been attained, there is an insufficient field of vision in the study of the Metar-education historiography, insufficiently theoretical and systematic results in correlation studies, and no theoretical system studies developed in the relatively systematic and integrated Metar-education historiography in a whole. This has a severe impact on the development of educational history subject. For this subject, in fact, whether reflective thinking is necessary and to what extent has become a major issue related to its ripeness and future development. People studying education historiography must strengthen the sense of Metar-educationhistoriography and try to establish a system of theoretical knowledge ------ a system ofMetar-education historiography so as to provide theoretical guidance favorable for the development of educational history subject.In view of the above, attempt is made in this study to research the problems of elementary theory of educational history subject systematically and in an all-round way from visual angle of metatheory study, with viewpoint and theory and method of historical materialism and modern society science for the purpose of laying a foundation to establish the theory and method of educational history subject.This study contains three major parts. Part one: General. On the basis of the connotative definition of Metar-education historiography, and the historical review of Metar-education historiography study and existing problems in China, the study theses of Metar-education historiography is put forward.and the necessity and its study considerations for Metar-education historiography study are presented.Part two. This part highlights the search and study of the theory problems relevant to Metar-education historiography so as to develop a systematic and integrated theoretical system of Metar-education historiography study, including:a) Ontology study of educational history subject (chapter 1 and 2). These chapters cover the nature, object, position, subject system, function and value study of educational history subject, and focus on the description that educational history subject is both an interdisciplinary subject in combination of pedagogy and history, and a basic subject of pedagogy, and it has a duple subject nature and knowledge background.Meanwhile, they also involves the system framework of educational history subject,on the basis of which, the intension and its connection and differentiation for the function and value of educational history subject are discussed, and its future development is oriented through specific analyses.b) Epistemology study on educational history subject (chapter 3) . The intension and its characteristics of subject and object in a cognitive process of educational history subject are highlighted,the characteristics of the establishment and result of recognizing educational history subject are presented, and the verification and standard to it are given.c) Methodology study on educational history subject (chapter 4). This study highlights both overall and specific methodology of educational history study, and describes the strongpoint, applicability and limitation for various specific research methodology, on the basis of which the methodological framework of educational history subject is initially established.d)Interdisciplinary study on educational history subject (chapter 5). This study highlights the necessity and feasibility of interdisciplinary study on educational history by using the multi-disciplinary theory and method, and the means and methods by which the interdisciplinary study on educational history subject is realized,on the basis of which, the problems pertaining relation between the interdisciplinary study and the normal form conversion are raised up.Part three: conclusions. On the theoretical system of Metar-education historiography study formed on the basis of self reflect, reflective thinking and self reorganization on educational history subject,writer hereof concludes that Metar-education historiography study is characterized with the reflective thinking to the subject investigated, the multiplicity on study, the logicality of research methodology, and the openness of study system etc.
