Ideologists at all times and in all over the world had discussed a lot about the relationship between education and social integration. Compared with other institutes, the ideology reproduction of university is characteristic of one variable and multiplicity, infusion and infiltration, criticism and construction, replication and innovation. Ideology reproduction in itself is a political action initiated by the state; it controls the educational system directly and indirectly, and designs some dominant and recessive courses by power of the state, thus meeting the needs of the politics socialization. Knowing this helps improving the reproduction efficiency of university ideology.The modern university has a history of over 100 years since it was introduced from the west. In modern times, university develops from a civilizing tool of traditional caesaropapism to a modern university of academic freedom. After the foundation of new China, under the direct interference of the state, university inherits the essence of political civilization, infiltrates into the ideology of society, forms a Chinese characteristics civilizing pattern, and plays a great part in social integration. In the aspect of organizing and management, there's immediate guidance and supervision of PRC, in the aspect of education content, integrated courses are set down from above based on Marxism theory systemically, and gradually forms a specialized and academic education field. Many social factors have effect on the formation of the civilizing pattern: the cultural tradition integrating both politics and religion, the establishment of the guiding ideology, Marxism, the intervention of political power and political system, free academic tradition and the pattern of Soviet Union.At present times, with the rapid change of internal and external environment in China, especially under the co-influences of marketization, globalization and cyberization, college education faces a severe challenge, and strongly influences the realization of the social politics. Its negative points can be seen as follows:great impact on the leading university ideology, the overflow of secularizing utilitarian view of values, fading of ideology in value, weakness and lag of practice and long-term disregard of education object's subjectivity, which lead to the inefficiency of the ideology reproduction. On the premise of maintaining university spirits, as an academic institute, it's necessary to innovate the ideology; as an educational institute, politics socialization should identify the value of the mainstream ideology; as a cultural institute, the mainstream of ideology should guide the value of the society and culture. Aiming at the above, it's necessary to explore the education reform in university ideology reproduction with an eye to social development.
