Xueji sums up the Confucian experiences and theories of teaching and education before Qin Dynasty. The thought in its teaching theories have not only influenced greatly China's thousands of years' teaching and education, but still have practical meanings to the construction of contemporary teaching and education theories and the reformation of teaching and education as well. This thesis thoroughly discusses its philosophic teaching thought from the aspects of teaching aims, teaching essences, teaching rules, teaching arts, and the pursuit of ideal teaching bourn.In the aspect of teaching aims, Xueji put forth the unified thought of establishing, reining the country and civilizing the people.On the one hand, the thought of establishing and reining of country mean essentially the construction of the society. On the other hand, social construction is based on individual construction.The individual constructed via teaching should live a life with dharma ethics, wisdom character, and artistry, which has only to be realized by individual studies, so 'study for oneself is the only way to perfect oneself. Civilizing people just means culturing people via teaching. In the aspect of teaching valuetropism, xueji is neither of socialism nor humanism, but a organic unification of individual and society.In the aspect of teaching essences, xueji opposes cramming method while advocates heuristic method, emphasizing both teaching and learning, advocating interaction, communication and interlocution between teacher and student.In the aspect of teaching rules, xueji generalizes the reason for success and failure in teaching, concluding that only by doing teaching after preparation, duly, orderly and by emulating can success be achieved, contrarily not, of which the thesis analyzes the origin, history influences and contemporary value, and the thesis furtherly demonstrates the reasonableness and contemporary value of its thoughts from the stand of psychology, philosophy, sociology and education.In the aspect if teaching arts, xueji puts forth the thoughts of perfect teaching, perfect learning and harmony of the twain. It is advocated that teachers should teach heuristically and briefly, set examples for the students, be accomplished in questioning and answering, i.e. question method. As to the students, it is required to master the learning strategies of emulating, grasping opportunities, listening attentively, and taking delight. Based on the analysis of this thought, this thesis demonstrates its practical meanings to the contemporary reformation of teaching and education.xueji deems that harmonious teaching means the harmony of teaching and learning, of teacher and student, of student and student, and in conclusion of development of individual and society.
