The Study On Sports Consumption Of The Residents In Macau

Sports consumption of the residents occupies an important position in sports consumption.In recent years,the economy of Macau has developed rapidly,the residents' income has general improved,which made a great impact on Macau residents' sports consumption level,structure and conduct.Based on the related theory of consumption economics,keeping close to practice of the development of society and economy in Macau, mainly using the research methods of literature,questionnaire, statistics and comparison,this paper firstly analyzes the general level of sports consumption of Macau residents and compares sports consumption level according to Macau residents' gender,age,educational background, occupation and income level respectively,secondly analyzes the general situation for Macau residents spending in participation in sport, watching sport events and purchasing sporting goods,meanwhile,gives a comparative analysis for sports consumption structure among different people,thirdly analyzes sports consumption conduct of Macau residents.The conclusions of research are as follows:First,from the perspective of the general level of sports consumption,the general level of sports consumption of Macau residents is on the low side;the general level of sports consumption of male residents is higher than female;the level of sports consumption declines with age while increases with education history or income level increases,and it is also related to occupation considerably.Second,from the perspective of sports consumption structure,the sports consumption structure of Macau residents is not reasonable;the general level of sports consumption of male residents is higher than female comprehensively,residents aged between 23 to 30 or whose educational background is above junior college have the maximum in all the three kinds of sports consumption,while civil servants and residents who earn above 30001 yuan per month have the maximum in two kinds of sports consumption of the three;there are 88.4 percent of Macau residents who participate in sport at]east one time,the overwhelming majority of residents exercise more than 30 minutes every time;Third, from the perspective of sports consumption conduct,the favourite sport events and the most willing choice to enjoy leisure and entertainment are badminton,swimming,basketball and watching TV,taking exercise, travel respectively;four out of five of the residents have the purpose of exercising and entertainment while three out of five have the purpose start from hobbies,the primary concern for most residents when they are participating in sport,watching sport events and purchasing sporting goods are partners and space facilities,technical level of sport events, quality and style respectively;eighty percent of Macau residents are satisfied with the service obtained in space facilities;the reason why they don' t take exercises at all or take exercises seldom mainly lies in a shortage of time or facilities;only about forty percent of residents express that their friends and colleagues have positive attitude towards their taking exercises.Based on the above conclusions,this paper gives some advice mainly focus on guiding the residents' sport consumption,supplying the relative demand and developing Macau' s sport consumption market and so on.
